For over 300 years, we have offered practical help where it’s most needed, opened up access to education and ensured older generations are treated with dignity and care.

Every Member has a part to play in this shared work. Whether through joining a committee or becoming a mentor, your involvement helps us reach further and respond with compassion and care.

This tradition dates back centuries. In 1693, Member David Aitkenhead stepped in to help a fellow merchant facing hardship. His generosity helped shape a culture of giving that has grown steadily ever since. Today, we manage a range of charitable initiatives, each one shaped to meet changing needs while staying true to our values.
